The new Apple Store opens on Saturday, and the company has already shown some photos ahead of time. It has the same curved front as some earlier shopping centers in the city center.

Third Shopping Location with Rounded, Continuous Front

We first saw this design in India in 2023 (see below), when Apple then described it as a unique feature.

The Apple Saket welcomes customers through an uniquely designed curved storefront with soft wooden tables on which Apple products and accessories are displayed, along with a feature wall made in India.

Here you can see the gentle curve of the storefront, with President Tim Cook and Sales Director Deirdre O'Brien present at its opening:

The uniqueness didn't last long, as the same design was seen in a second store in Shenzhen, China, a week later.

The latest iteration (upper photo) was shown by Apple in preview photos of the Apple MixC Hefei in Anhui Province, China. In this example, there are no columns blocking the outer area, so it feels like a slightly more subtle transition from the outside to the inside.

As usual, locally available materials were included.

The Apple MixC Hefei is located near Swan Island and in the central business district of the city. The new store features a wide, curved glass storefront that harmoniously connects the inner and outer spaces and invites customers into the store. The new opening uses sustainable and locally collected materials, reflecting Apple's passion for design excellence and environmental responsibility.

Since it opens close to Chinese New Year, Apple has had the opportunity to celebrate in several ways.

To mark the upcoming Chinese New Year, customers can buy a pair of special AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation, stamped for the Year of the Dog. They can also enroll in a special Chinese New Year course that teaches new methods to capture and rejuvenate memories using the iPhone 16 and Apple Vision Pro, Apple's first spatial computer that transforms how people work, collaborate, and connect. Customers at Apple MixC Hefei can also enjoy festive window decorations and decorative elements in the new store, creating a festive atmosphere.

The store opens on Friday, January 18th.
