Based on Ubuntu: Rhino Linux 2025.1 comes with Linux 6.12, Rhino Stampede and more.

The decision to integrate dynamic workspaces draws inspiration from desktop environments like GNOME and the extensible workflow they offer.
Rhino Linux 2025.1 was released today by the Rhino Linux team as the latest stable ISO-Snapshot of this Ubuntu-based distribution, which offers a continuous release model on a stable desktop environment.
Highlights of Rhino Linux 2025.1: Support for dynamic workspaces in the Unicorn Desktop-deriving Xfce-based environment, to automatically create new workspaces when applications open programs, a new custom GRUB bootloader theme with a modern look and feel, and a new test metapackage named Rhino Stampede.
Furthermore, Rhino Linux 2025.1 introduces a new companion application named "Hello Rhino" written in Rust and IcedTK to make it easier for users to access the homepage, blog, Discord community, and documentation of Rhino Linux.
Under the hood, Rhino Linux 2025.1 runs the Linux kernel 6.12 and uses Pacstall 6.1.0 as a package manager that leans on AUR. It also updates the kernel to Linux 6.9 on PINE64 images and to Linux 6.11 on Raspberry Pi images.
Lastly, this release fixes an issue with displaying the "Install Rhino Linux" icon on the desktop when running Rhino Linux from a live image. The "unicorn-desktop-git" package is converted into architecture-dependent builds to separate dependencies, and the development of the `cortileauto-tiling` manager is moved to Pacstall for better update management.
Rhino Linux 2025.1 is now available for download on the official website as live and installable ISO images for the architectures x86_64 and ARM64. Docker images for Rhino Linux are also available here, and the source code can be found on GitHub.
