According to Mark Gurman's Power On Newsletter, Apple plans no Vision Pro update in 2025. He mentions that it is theoretically possible for Apple to introduce a headset before the release of next year, but all signs point to new Vision Pro hardware appearing in 2026.

On the other hand, he reports that Apple's "more pressing goal" is to create a cheaper earbud and is speeding up the development of this earbud.

Other analysts like Ming Chi-Kuo had previously reported that the Apple Vision Pro 2 would enter production in the second half of 2025. It was widely believed that it would use the M5 chip and offer support for Apple Intelligence, although there were few other hardware changes. Kuo also reported that Apple's cheaper headset is delayed until at least 2027.

On the other hand, Gurman describes the cheaper headset as an 'urgent goal' of Apple's. However, it will not be delivered until after 2025, but hopefully, it won't be too far away:

The most pressing goal is to produce a cheaper version of the headset and Apple is speeding up the development of such a product. Stay tuned for more details about this in the future. In addition to this device, coded as N107, Apple is currently also researching other ideas. This includes a version of Ray-Ban Smartglasses from Meta Platforms Inc. and an Augmented Reality device with cameras, comparable to AirPods.

All these devices would still be beyond 2025, but this year should be a decisive step towards this future vision.

Gurman reports that Apple continues to work on other products implementing wearable cameras, including an Apple version of the Meta Ray-Ban glasses and AirPods with cameras. No specific time schedule is given, except that it will happen after this year.
