Explanation of DisplayPort 2.1

DisplayPort 2.1 introduces three bandwidth options: - **DP40**: Up to 40 Gbps, suitable for most desktop users. - **DP54**: Up to 54 Gbps, ideal for high-end profiles with 16K resolution and/or >240Hz refresh rates. - **DP80**: Up to 80 Gbps, the highest bandwidth level, essential for extreme performance needs. **Usage:** - **DP40:** Standard desktop users requiring high image quality. - **DP54:** Users needing high-end profiles with specific resolutions and refresh rates. - **DP80:** Ideal for users demanding the highest resolution and refresh rates, such as in film industry or high-end design software. **Important Notes:** - Hardware must support DisplayPort 2.1 to utilize these bandwidth levels. - DP80 cables are currently only available in very short lengths and may not be supported by many manufacturers. - No GPUs currently support the UHBR20 bandwidth, so monitors with maximum DP 2.1 resolution and refresh rates are not yet available. DisplayPort 2.1 significantly enhances data transfer speeds, crucial for future technology and high-end applications. [Mehr...]
