These are the features I would like to see in a potential 'Apple Pro Card'

These are the features I would like to see in a potential 'Apple Pro Card'

The Apple card celebrated its fifth anniversary this year, and I recently thought about what could follow for the credit card. With the Apple card not being particularly profitable, combined with the fact that Apple wants to grow its revenue from services while sales of physical equipment are declining, I think it could make a lot of sense for Apple to start offering a higher-level credit card.

Apple Card Today

Currently, the Apple card is a simple credit card without annual fees focused on returning cash back in 2% each time you use Apple Pay. It also has a high category of 3% for Apple merchants and other partners, encouraging users to spend more money at Apple. It's not terrible, but it's not an exciting credit card either.

Recently, two new partners have been added offering cash back of 3%: ChargePoint and Booking.com. The latter is particularly interesting, as it allows you to earn points for stays and restaurant reservations.

This makes absolutely no sense from the point of view of Apple. Zero. Apple has done what is logical for their business model — a strategy for the transactions market that goes to their products/services. If they don't evolve towards a financial services division (GE Capital, anyone?), it will have no value at all for them.

Apple could also adopt the American Express approach and allow its customers to buy certain difficult-to-get concert tickets and other benefits — through exclusive pre-sales. This would also be a great advantage that would encourage customers to pay the higher annual fee of an Apple Card Pro.

It would also be quite nice to see Apple working on a unified travel portal to search for point discounts across all their various partners, similar to point.me. One of the inconveniences of transferring points is that you have to individually search each partner to find the best value, and I think Apple could make this process easier.
