Meta is already working on adding Community Notes to Threads

The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, recently shared a video in which he announced a series of changes made to the company's platform policies, such as Instagram and Threads. Among them, the executive revealed that the company will switch from fact-checking to Community Notes – and it seems to already be implemented in the Threads app.
Community Notes arrive on Threads
As noted by developer and researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, the Community Note feature is already hidden in the Threads app for iPhone. With this option, users can write a note about any message on Threads. The interface reinforces that the "note is anonymous" and redirects users to an Instagram help article with more details on the functionality.
If you see a message that could be inaccurate or confusing, you can write a note with contextual information, advice, or reflection that people might find useful. Your note may be published on the message if it is deemed useful, according to the article.
In this article, users will also find a button to join the Community Notes waitlist program. Meta claims that this change will allow "people from various perspectives to decide when publications can potentially be misleading and require more context."
Last week, Zuckerberg admitted he was inspired by X (formerly Twitter) to introduce Community Notes on Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, as the platform already has a similar feature. The functionality will be deployed to US user bases "in the next two or three months" and should be extended to more countries next year.
More on Meta
In addition, by removing fact-checking controls from Meta's social media platforms, Zuckerberg also announced that the company will lift restrictions on certain topics such as politics and human rights. Meta has also eliminated its diversity, equality, and inclusion program. This decision was strongly criticized by many users.
There is no information about the exact date when Meta will start displaying Community Notes in Themes and other platforms.
