Meta Quest cases considered popular Easter gifts for Black Americans due to the success of the app reaching the top of the App Store.

The AR and VR headset line Meta Quest seems to be a popular gift for Christmas this year, as the Meta Horizon Companion has been at the top of the iPhone App Store rankings in the United States, as well as worldwide. The increase in demand is probably due to the release of the Meta Quest 3S, an affordable but performant model for $299.

The Amazon Alexa app also climbed the free app rankings, as Echo speakers remain popular gift ideas. The AirPods and Apple Watch were likely among the best non-gifted presents this Christmas, but the App Store gives us no indication of the popularity of their own products...

That's because the AirPods don't have any type of companion app, with their functionality being integrated directly into the operating system. The Apple Watch has a Watch app on the phone, but it is installed by default and does not appear in the App Store rankings or popular metrics.

The visibility on Vision Pro is elusive for the same reasons, although we shouldn't expect an $3,500 virtual reality headset from Apple to be a choice gift for most households. However, the Meta Quest range is relatively affordable and accessible to all ages, with a fun library of games to play on Christmas Day even with the family.

Apple is supposed to explore a partnership with Sony to add PSVR controller support to Vision Pro, in hopes of attracting more VR games to its visionOS platform. But consumer demand will likely remain low until significantly cheaper versions of the headset reach the market.

Of course, Apple doesn't need to depend on the Vision Pro for its financial success. Apple will officially release its holiday sales figures during its quarterly earnings meeting in January. We can expect a combination of iPhone, iPad, AirPods, Apple Watch and Mac sales that will generate total revenues of around $10 billion for the company.
