Toute la gamme d’iPhone 17 reçoit des écrans ProMotion, selon les rapports de l’industrie de la chaîne d’approvisionnement.

The specialist in display analysis Ross Young indicated last September that the entire range of iPhone 17 would be equipped with ProMotion, a feature currently exclusive to the two Pro models. This is now supported by a new report on supply chains from the previous week.
The latest report is a bit less specific, referring only to "a high refresh rate," but this implies that non-Pro models will finally get the benefits of ProMotion for the first time.
ProMotion Display
The refresh rate of a display measures how many times per second the screen is redrawn or updated, and is expressed in Hz. Non-Pro iPhone models have 60Hz screens, meaning they are refreshed 60 times per second.
Many modern displays offer higher refresh rates, but a more sophisticated approach is variable refresh rate displays, which can reduce or increase the number of screen updates to adapt to the content. This is possible thanks to a type of OLED technology known as LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide).
Apple uses the term ProMotion for its variable refresh rate displays, which can go up to 120 Hz and down to 1 Hz. This offers three advantages:
- 120Hz doubles the frame rate of games and similar content, for better response.
- Intermediate refresh rates save battery power when fewer updates are necessary.
- 1Hz allows always-on display, as this speed consumes virtually no energy
Said to arrive on all iPhone 17 models
Ross Young reported that LTPO screens will be available on all iPhone 17 models next year, meaning the basic model and the iPhone 17 Air will receive this new feature.
The leaky digital chat station—previously accurately leaked information about the iPhone 16 Pro having a long-focus lens and larger sensor size for the main camera—now also confirms this from its own supply chain sources.
According to supply chain materials, the standard version of the iPhone 17 series is likely to have an elevated screen rate.
This would certainly be an opportune update, as variable refresh rate technology is already commonly found on budget Android smartphones priced below the basic models of iPhones.
