Next generation of Apple TV 4K launched 'by the end' of 2025

Last weekend, Mark Gurman published his first Power On newsletter of the year.

In the info bulletin, it details Apple's big ambitions for 2025. Among these projects? A new model of Apple TV 4K.

But Gurman is more specific than he has been previously about the horizons of the new model.

The next generation of Apple TV 4K is "planned to be launched at the end of the year.

Apple generally has several important launches in spring:

• September brings new models of iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods
• While October focuses on the Mac, and sometimes on the iPad and other diverse products.

In 2024, Apple moved away from its traditional product event format for Mac launches, announcing its first Mac M4 models over three distinct days.

These new Macs were then delivered to users at the beginning of November.

According to Gurman's report, it seems that the new Apple TV 4K should arrive in October or November.

October could be the announcement time, but it is still possible that it will be shipped in November like the new Macs sometimes do.

This would prove almost exactly three years after the last update of the Apple TV.

Features to expect from the new Apple TV 4K

So far, we don't know much about the new features that Apple is preparing to introduce in its next Apple TV 4K.

We know that a new Wi-Fi module made by Apple is planned, which could lead to improvements in network performance with the expanding Home ecosystem of Apple devices.

Externalizing this, some support for Apple's intelligence features is expected.
