Cette nouvelle fonctionnalité pourrait enfin me permettre de retourner sur le Mac en 2025.

I have used an iPad Pro as my main computer for many years, although I sometimes try to explore the possibilities with the Mac. For various reasons, I have always leaned towards the iPad, but a new feature that Apple recently launched could finally be the thing that brings me back to the Mac in 2025.
The New Device That Changes My Calculation Habits
This piece requires some context in two areas:
- The new device I just bought
- The reason why I invested all my money in the iPad Pro at the beginning
Firstly, the new device.
After a long resistance, I finally gave in and bought an Apple Vision Pro.
I had used this device several times before, but I only got it for myself during the last month.
I will write about the reasons why I finally bought one at another time. But the essential thing to know is that the virtual Mac display was an important factor.
Yes, this 'new feature' that could bring me back to the iMac is just a partial feature of the iMac.
More precisely, it's a feature of the Vision Pro: the virtual Mac display, which has recently received significant improvements.

In the recent update to visionOS 2.2, Apple made Mac Virtual Display much more user-friendly thanks to three changes:
- Wide and ultra-wide display modes
- High display resolution
- Audio routing update
I never tried the old virtual display functionality of Mac before, but its new and improved version particularly convinced me.
I would like to use more of my calculator with native visionOS applications, but the options available are quite limited for now. For example, my preferred writing application - Ulysses - is not available, as well as my preferred image editing applications.
I am not completely decided and there are still some inconveniences of the Mac computer that I should find a way to live with if I leave behind the iPad Pro.
But the Vision Pro has made me more open to full-time Mac calculation than I have been for a long time.
A Mac Experience, With or Without Vision Pro

I don't expect to wear my Vision Pro for eight hours a day and I don't intend to use it while working remotely (at least not for now).
If I work on macOS inside the Vision Pro, it would be much simpler if I stayed on the Mac for my non-Vision Pro-related work as well.
The same Mac, running the same applications, but with a lot less screen space than my virtual environment.
I am not completely decided and there are still some inconveniences of the Mac computer that I should find a way to live with if I leave behind the iPad Pro.
But the Vision Pro has made me more open to full-time Mac calculation than I have been for a long time.
