The new Samsung Galaxy S25 copies more than a dozen features of the iPhone, according to Macworld, ranging from design to Siri's glowing frame.

The article acknowledges that both companies copy each other but suggests that Samsung is slightly less subtle in its approach...

Macworld's Mahmoud Itani presents the argument, starting with Apple's intelligence.

Apple's intelligence offers an integrated integration of ChatGPT with others, including Google Gemini, on the horizon. One of the main features of Samsung's AI is that it was designed to accommodate third-party chatbots, starting with Google Gemini on its own AI assistant Bixby.

When you trigger Gemini, you get a text box with a colored glowing border—just like Siri. Samsung has also shown how the chatbot supports text and voice inputs. At the same time, text selection displays an interface that is almost identical to Apple's Writing Tools, allowing users to check selections, convert them to tables, etc.

It refers to the ability to transcribe and summarize phone calls, natural language user search in the Photos app, and a feature resembling Image Playground.

Other examples cited include the similar Now Bar like live activities and the possibility of using cinematic audio features while filming.

There is no doubt that Samsung copies from Apple. One of its favorite tactics is to wait until the next iPhone feature is revealed or disclosed, then rush to the market with its own version to claim it's first, while Apple takes its time to get things right.

But there is also no uncertainty that Apple borrows from Samsung, and of course, there are technological developments that will be adopted by many companies once they become available.

Ultimately, it works out well: the more companies compete, the more incentive for each company to implement the best possible implementation of each new idea.
