The Steam Deck might have a battery power limit.

The valve seems to be working on adding a feature to the Steam Deck that will allow users to limit battery charging. This could help improve the long-term health of the battery.
Currently, the Steam Deck does not have an option to limit charging, which is common on many smartphones and other devices. With the Battery Charging Limit feature, users can configure their device to charge only up to a certain percentage, generally around 80%. This helps extend the life of the battery.
Lithium-ion batteries, like those in the Steam Deck, gradually lose their ability to store a charge over time. By keeping the charge level between 20% and 80%, the battery will remain healthier for longer. This feature does not have a specific release date, but it should be as simple as updating your Steam Deck when it becomes available.
Although the official feature is not available at this time, users can still activate a similar option using a specific command or the Power Tools Decky plugin. These options allow users to set a custom limit on the amount of charge their device can receive, but they come with some risks. Alternatively, Reddit user NoFly3972 provides a command that can be used.
Steam Deck already has a battery-saving feature, which means it uses power from the charger when plugged in and switches to battery power only when the charge level drops below 90%. This differs from the Battery Charging Limit feature planned, which would stop charging once a certain percentage is reached.
Adding an official battery autonomy limit is a significant improvement. Current methods for managing this issue can work, but they do not offer the same precision and consistency as an integrated feature. The current autonomy-saving settings on the Steam Deck work well enough, but they may not be as advanced as what Valve plans. You can replace the battery if necessary, but it would be better if it could last longer with managed use.
