The social media apps X and Bluesky are both launching dedicated video streams, apparently in an attempt to take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding TikTok.

With X, there is a new play icon button that launches a continuous video stream very similar to TikTok, while Bluesky offers personalized video streams that you can choose to pin...

X announced its launch today, accompanied by a short demo video.

The Play button appears at the bottom of the app, between the Grok and Notifications buttons, as shown above.

Bluesky says it "had to get involved in video action too".

We also had to join the video action - Bluesky now has personalized streams for videos! Just like with any other stream, you can choose to pin these or not. Bluesky is yours to customize.

Both movements are clearly a response to the uncertainty surrounding TikTok's future. You can follow this weekend's events here, but the app remains unavailable in app stores and even if Trump questions a one-year suspension promised from the US, it won't get off the hook.
