Lo iPad più经济的 di Apple ha un problema di IA.

The 10th generation of Apple iPad is an excellent value at $299 (regular price $349), especially considering that the next comparable display size in the range starts at $600. The iPad 10 has a larger design, fun colors, Touch ID, USB-C, and impressive cameras. However, there is one missing feature that should make customers consider the cost of this model.
Missing Apple Intelligence
After the fall update of the iPad mini last year, the only model in the range that does not support Apple Intelligence is the iPad 10. Every Mac model sold also supports Apple Intelligence.
Apple continues to sell three iPhone models without Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15, iPhone 14, and iPhone SE), so it's not as if Apple Intelligence is spread across all devices. However, support for Apple Intelligence is a reasonable request for new devices sold in 2025.
The reason for this is that Apple has set a specific minimum of 8GB of RAM or more for hardware running Apple Intelligence. For iPhone and iPad, 8GB represents a good lower limit for RAM - the resource that allows multitasking without slowing down. On Mac, 16GB of RAM is a reasonable base, and all new Macs now come with this amount.
Guess which iPad sold by Apple lacks 8GB of RAM? You guessed it: the iPad 10. Since the iPad can multitask in ways that the iPhone cannot, it's reasonable to expect more RAM in the tablet compared to the phone. For this reason, it might be useful to wait for a new iPad 11 to see if 8GB becomes available even at the price of the iPad Air from $600.

Should you buy an iPad without AI?
Apple Intelligence is not so critical that you shouldn't buy an iPad 10. It's not yet, but the iPad will last long enough to allow Apple to improve the intelligence before you need a new one in the future. And as mentioned, it might be a good idea to have 8GB of RAM in your iPad today.
For now, the mystery is whether the 11th generation iPad will work with Apple Intelligence. If not, Apple probably shouldn't release it until 8GB RAM becomes available at a reasonable price.
In this case, I'm putting my money where my mouth is. My son has an unused iPad 9 and wants to disable the Lightning port and Home button in our house. But even with a low update price through trade-in, I'm not convinced that ignoring Apple Intelligence is a good idea for my son's next iPad. Even simple features like Image Playground and Genmoji seem essential to the basic iPad experience once you've spent time with them.
Do you agree or disagree? Is it really time to judge if you don't want an iPad 11 without Apple Intelligence? It's still too early for that, but a much better version of Siri might be worth considering in the meantime until Apple Intelligence support is available. We'll see!
