BBC News initially reported the service interruption in Great Britain.
Downdetector, which tracks website outages, has shown that over 10,000 people have reported that the AI chat robot, created by OpenAI, was not working in the United Kingdom on Thursday.
Users trying to use it received a message saying 'the web server has reported an invalid gateway error'.
However, others have stated that it is also affecting many users in the United States.
OpenAI says they know the reason for the problem and are working on a fix.
We have identified the root cause of this issue and are currently working to implement a correction.
