The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, attended the inauguration of President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., and used social media to promise "continued innovation and jobs" for the United States.

According to Trump, Apple intends to make a "massive investment" in the United States now that he is in power.

Today on his social media post, Cook said:

Congratulations to @realDonaldTrump and Vice President @JDVance on Inauguration Day. We are excited to collaborate with the administration to promote continued innovation and jobs for a growing future in our great nation.

Cook sat directly behind Trump's podium at today's inauguration. He was sitting next to Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, three rows behind President Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Other tech entrepreneurs, including Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, and Jeff Bezos, were listening. Notably, Cook was sitting separately from those four big technology billionaires.

Cook donated $1 million to the inauguration of President Trump, as did Meta, Microsoft, Google, and others. Cook's donation was made personally. As a company, Apple has not donated to the fund.

In addition to attending today's inauguration, Cook attended the traditional pre-inauguration service at St. John's Church in Washington, D.C., and also participated in the post-inauguration dinner where he sat next to Donald Trump Jr. and Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.

During what was called his "slow victory" in Washington, D.C. last Saturday evening, Trump stated that Cook had promised him that Apple "will make a massive investment in the United States due to our great election victory."

No one knows exactly what that investment will entail. During his first term, Trump went to Austin, Texas, with Cook to visit the Apple Mac Pro factory.
