New release date for Apple TV 4K: Here is when you can expect the next model.

The new generation of Apple TV 4K will be launched "soon" at the end of 2025.

Last weekend, Mark Gurman published his first Power On newsletter of the year.

In the newsletter, it lists Apple's major plans for 2025. Among these plans? A new Apple TV 4K model.

But Gurman also specified more about the timeline of the new model than he did in the past.

The next Apple TV 4K model is planned to be released at the end of the year.

Apple usually has one or two major launches in the autumn:

• September will bring new iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods models.
• Then October focuses on Mac and sometimes on iPad and other miscellaneous products.

In 2024, Apple abandoned its traditional event format for its Mac launches, instead announcing its first Mac M4 over three separate days.

The new Macs are then delivered to users at the beginning of November.

It seems that, according to Gurman's report, the new Apple TV 4K should arrive in October or November.

The announcement could have happened in October, but it is always possible that it will be released in November, just like the new Macs.

This would demonstrate almost exactly three years after the last update to Apple TV.

Features to expect from the new Apple TV 4K

Currently, there is not much known about which new features Apple intends to implement for the next generation of Apple TV 4K.

We know that a new Wi-Fi module produced by Apple is expected, which could bring improvements in the network with the expansion of the Apple home device system.

Outside of that, there is an expected level of functionality from Apple Intelligence.

View all comments While most of the current artificial intelligence features are not suitable for tvOS, we should at least see the arrival of a new, more capable Siri. To enable AI, the Apple TV 4K would need a more powerful chip, such as the A17 Pro or A18, and updated RAM. However, beyond these changes, there are still many unknowns regarding the update.
