The browser operation makes it easier to interact with AI through a new widget for iOS.

The popular web browser Opera has just released an important update for its iPhone and iPad application. With the new version, Opera is making it easier for users to interact with Aria – its integrated AI engine – through new Home Screen widgets. Continue reading as we delve into everything that's new in Opera's latest iOS update.
Opera for iOS gets new widgets and makes artificial intelligence available to everyone.
As detailed in a blog post, the new version of Opera for iOS introduces new Home Screen widgets. These widgets are fully customizable and allow users to access their web browser's main features with just a tap. For example, it is possible to use the widget to open a new Private tab or even ask Aria.
There's more: if you hold down the icon, you'll find even more shortcuts. "These additions speed up your daily navigation by providing one-click access to the features you like most," says Opera.
But there is another important feature with this update. Opera's AI, Aria, is now available to everyone, even if they are not authenticated. With Aria, users can ask questions through text or voice input. Aria can search the internet and even generate images using Google's Imagen 3 Fast model.
According to Opera, to use Aria without an account, you just need to update the iOS app to the latest version. The only thing to remember is that image generation is limited to five images per day when not registered, while registered users can generate up to 30 images per day.
Opera also thanks the iOS users for their "recent notable growth."
Innovative and user-oriented updates like these have spurred Opera for iOS to recently register a significant increase in new users. From September to November 2024, our main browser for iPhone registered a 33% increase in new users in the European Union and a 31% increase worldwide! Therefore, thank you – you are the reason why we continue to develop exciting new features while striving to create the best possible touch experience.
The Opera web browser for iOS is available for free on the App Store. It requires an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14 or later.
