Ubisoft affirma che il proprio hub Assassin's Creed non sia un launcher di giochi.

Ubisoft is set to launch an Animus Hub on March 20, 2025, alongside Assassin's Creed Shadows. This Hub will serve as a central menu that allows players to access various Assassin's Creed games without having to use Ubisoft Connect, the game launcher typically used by the company.
While Ubisoft describes the Hub as 'not an independent launcher', it actually functions as one. A launcher is an app or service you use to start a game, and this is used to start a series of Assassin's Creed titles.
The main difference between Animus and typical launchers is that players must own Assassin's Creed Shadow to access it. As predicted by the concept of Assassin's Creed Infinity, the Hub will be available on all platforms on which Assassin's Creed Shadow can be played: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Ubisoft+, Amazon Luna, Windows PC, and Mac.
The player can access games like Assassin's Creed Mirage, Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins through the Hub. If you have physical copies of these games, you need to insert the disc to play them. Unfortunately, games released before Origins are currently not supported, but there is always hope that they will do so in the future.
The Animus Hub will evolve over time, and Ubisoft intends to add new features, content, and rewards. The goal is to improve the connection between different stories of the Assassin's Creed universe, particularly the contemporary one, with historical events in the games.
The Animus Hub has four main functionalities: Memories, Projects, Exchange, and Save Box. Memories allow players to explore the stories of the most recent heroes in the series. Projects include additional missions called "Anomalies" that can be played within Assassin's Creed Shadows and are accessible via the game's Objective Button. The Exchange and Save Box require an internet connection to use them. The Save Box contains parts of a new contemporary storyline.
