Expected confirmation of iPad Air with M3 chip at the beginning of this year

The iPad Air is generally upgraded every 1.5 to 2 years. Last year, Bloomberg reported that Apple might update it "as soon as this year" (i.e., this year).

The company is reportedly close to producing an updated entry-level model iPhone SE (codenamed V59). At the same time, Apple aims to manufacture a new iPad Air model and keyboard and release them simultaneously.

At that time, Gurman pointed out that nothing was mentioned about the chip set. However, we expected it to be updated. But we felt that it should not be limited to M3 but should also be updated for M4.

Apple is reportedly planning to introduce an M3 chip in the next iPad Air. Introducing M3 in the iPad Air is likely because the iPad Air has always used chips that are one year behind, making an upgrade highly probable.

Other Possible Improvements

According to Mark Gurman's report, a new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air is expected. This is intended to replace the keyboard first introduced in the 2020 iPad Pro. The new keyboard is expected to have additional function keys like other iPad keyboards.

"A display with a refresh rate of 90Hz may be possible," it is also mentioned, but this has not been confirmed.

Other speculative possibilities include a brighter display and support for Wi-Fi 7.
