Apple maintains a standard pace for software releases.

The company releases the new software version to all users and, typically, a new beta update for developers arrives a few days later.

The public beta of the new software continues for several days to a few weeks.

Today's macOS 15.3 beta 1 deviates slightly from this trend. Released just a week after macOS 15.2 on Wednesday, today's 15.3 beta seems to have taken about a week. Currently, macOS 15.3 is only available to developers, but I hope a public beta continues in a few days.

As of now, I don't know about the new features and additional content of macOS 15.3, but I will inform you about all changes discovered.

Installing or avoiding macOS 15.3 beta

If your Apple ID is connected to a developer account, you can immediately run the new macOS 15.3 software.

To install it, follow these steps:

Open the System Preferences app
General settings → Software Update
Check that "Beta Updates" displays "macOS Developer Beta".
Download and install macOS 15.3

Also, if you were running the macOS 15.2 beta version previously, you may not be ready to install the new full build.

macOS 15.3 is still the first beta version, so it is expected to have more bugs and performance issues compared to future beta versions.

Issues with new Macs may appear at the beginning, especially before holidays, so please check the software update screen to turn off beta version updates if necessary.
