November, Apple announced additional 3% cash back partners for the Apple Card. Booking.com and Chargepoint were included. These additions were welcome. However, one of the existing partners will cease operations a few weeks later: Panera Bread.

When scrolling through the "Business Benefits" list in the Apple Wallet app's Apple Card section, a new message appears below the Panera Bread store, stating:

As of February 1, 2025, using Apple Pay at Panera Bread will revert to the standard daily cash back rate of 2%.

Starting from February 1, you will no longer be able to receive the 3% cash back that Apple provided as the only restaurant partner at Panera.

"This is a unfortunate failure, but it's possible that economic reasons made it difficult for Panera to continue the contract."

From August 2020, Apple offered daily 3% cashback at Panera, which lasted approximately four years. Additionally, Apple implemented special Apple Card registration offers for Panera customers, providing $50 in cash back for spending over $50 on Panera bread.

"Panera Bread may close, but the Apple Card provides a 3% cashback rate at Apple and the following stores:

• Apple Hardware
• Booking.com
• Chargepoint
• Exxon Mobil
• Nike
• Tesla
• Uber/Uber Eats
• Woolworths/Doner's Read
