Apple side has not supported Apple Intelligence on devices such as Apple TV and Apple Watch, and some people are uncertain about when it will change.

Apple Intelligence is only available on iPhone, iPad, Mac. However, its functionality is very limited. Apple Intelligence requires A17 Pro chip (iPhone 15 Pro or iPad mini 7, etc.) and later M1 chip and later devices.

Apple has stated that it will continue to introduce Apple Intelligence into devices in the future, but it has not mentioned which devices or specific timeframes. Currently, owners of Apple TV, Apple Watch, HomePod, even Apple Vision Pro still cannot use the Apple Intelligence tools. Let's see how their rivals are responding.

As previously mentioned, Google announced at CES 2025 that Gemini will be introduced to Google TV. When talking about generative AI, most people think of chatbots that answer questions or write text. Gemini plans to play a similar role on Google TV. The company claims that "AI achieves unprecedented simplicity in searching for media."

However, some features are designed to improve the experience of using a television. For example, Gemini allows users to create art with their family or request a summary of today's news. Google also announced AI-generated screen savers and summaries of movies and TV shows.

'Apple's Intelligence technology and Apple TV and Apple Watch'

OK, let's return to Apple. When will Apple Intelligence arrive on Apple TV and Apple Watch? Unfortunately, it probably won't come soon - this is due to two reasons.

Firstly, Apple Intelligence is being introduced gradually. In the first phase, Writing Tools and text summarization were introduced. The second phase saw features like Genmoji and Image Playgrounds becoming available, as well as Siri's integration with ChatGPT. The third phase was scheduled for release in spring and aims to give Siri screen recognition capabilities and control over actions between apps.

While these many features are not necessarily useful on devices such as Apple TV or Apple Watch. There may be a ChatGPT on the Apple Watch. It might be helpful sometimes, but it doesn't sound like it will fundamentally change your life. Features that allow better control of apps via screen recognition and voice are nice, but these features have not yet been introduced to the iPhone, iPad, Mac.

However, another important reason is hardware. As I mentioned earlier, Apple Intelligence requires the latest chip. By almost all processing taking place on the device, it realizes better privacy. The latest Apple TV, released in 2022, uses the same A15 chip as the iPhone 13. There are rumors that a new Apple TV will be released around 2025, but it is unclear when this will happen and whether it will have a chip capable of running Apple Intelligence. For the Apple Watch, you will need to wait at least until September.
