Report: There is almost no stock for the iPhone SE.

The current generation of the iPhone SE, which debuted in 2022, is experiencing a rapid decline in supply according to Power On's newsletter. This is not surprising, as it is expected that the new iPhone SE will debut within a few months. However, what makes this unique and interesting is that it suggests Apple may be keeping the current generation model for an extended period.

This spring, probably around April, Apple plans to release the new iPhone SE. Some people might call it the iPhone 16E. This will be the largest redesign in the history of the iPhone SE, featuring a completely new design, a 6.1-inch OLED display, an upgrade to Face ID, and USB-C support, among many other improvements.

The new iPhone SE model is also expected to be compatible with Apple Intelligence and introduce features like Genmoji and notification summaries into the lineup of Apple's smartphones. However, these updates will make the new iPhone SE more expensive. According to reports, the price tag for the new model may be as low as $499.

Usually, when Apple introduces a new model at a higher price, it reduces the price of the older model and supports the market better. For example, even though the price tag for the redesigned M2 MacBook Air is more than $200 higher, Apple kept the prices of the old M1 MacBook Air models reduced for several years.

However, this may not necessarily meet your expectations. While it might be attractive to Apple to sell about $300 worth of iPhones to attract new buyers, considering that the production of iPhone SE 3 is expected to decline significantly, it's unlikely that this will happen.

The reduction in stock is a sign of confidence in the debut of the new model. However, this also suggests that Apple may not reduce the price of the current version after releasing an update. This could be seen as a missed opportunity for Apple to increase profits by offering cheaper iPhones in some markets. The current SE costs $429 and the new product has a chance to become more expensive due to its enhanced features.

Personally, I'm not surprised by this news. Even if people want a new iPhone under $400, the current generation of the iPhone SE is based on the 2017 iPhone 8. While the iPhone SE 3 uses outdated technology, it comes with a good chip and a good camera. Apart from that, it cannot compete in the Android market for prices ranging from $300 to $400.

Apple has also recently stopped selling the iPhone SE 3 in some parts of the European Union. With the new USB-C regulations in place, Apple can no longer sell Lightning iPhones (including the iPhone 14 and iPhone SE 3) in the European Union.

If you want to buy an iPhone SE 3 now, it can be ordered online and delivered within a few days for any reason. However, there are fewer stocks at local Apple stores.
