Alibaba Cloud has announced a new App Store tool, providing developers with more In-App Purchase options.

The Apple Developer website has shared news about a new API that provides extended options for managing In-App Purchases. This API is called the "Advanced Commerce API," and here are some of the things we know:

"The Advanced Commerce API provides greater flexibility to App Store developers"

Here's the official announcement:

The App Store promotes annual billions of transactions that help developers grow their businesses and provide world-class customer experiences. Additionally, the Advance Commerce API is being introduced to support developers' changing business models, such as exceptional large content catalogs, creator experiences, and additional features in subscriptions.

Developers can apply for permission to use the Advanced Commerce API to support recognized app store business models and manage In-App Purchases more flexibly within their apps. These purchases leverage the power of a trusted app store commerce system, which includes end-to-end payment processing, tax support, customer service, and more, allowing developers to focus on providing excellent app experiences.

The Apple announcement also includes links for developers to learn more about the requirements and application process.

However, at the time I am posting this article, the link is redirecting to Apple's standard In-App Purchase page for developers. Initially, the link was not functioning.

Hopefully, Apple will soon update the page with more details, but for now, it sounds like Apple is expanding the ways that developers can manage in-app purchases for their apps.

Whether or not the details are extensive, more options and greater flexibility would be considered a great change.
