Dell is ridiculing Apple's naming convention in its own press release.

Dell was mocked in its press release for copying Apple's naming convention for PCs. Currently, laptops and desktops are directly named from the iPhone lineup and are divided into three levels: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max.

"While saying it for simplicity alone, Dell has made its PC lineup more difficult to understand by copying Apple."

Bloomberg reported that Dell is reporting on its plans to abolish its own sub-brands (such as XPS and Inspiron) in accordance with the new naming convention.

"In the future, our new PCs will be divided into three levels: Dell, Dell Pro, and Dell Pro Max."

It seems that customers prefer simple and easy-to-pronounce names. "James Clarke, the chairman of the company, said in a presentation to the press before the show, "We hope that people won't have to spend time understanding our naming convention." He added, "Sometimes it caused some confusion."

It was disappointing for Dell if they had wished that no one would notice the origin of these names.

"Why did you choose something else? You are here with Apple's brand, so I think you should have chosen the original one. " One participant laughed and said, "Your brand is similar to Apple. Are you really following Apple?"

The new levels will only add complexity for buyers. All three levels are divided into basic, plus, and premium variations. Is Dell Pro better than Dell Pro Max? Or should we compare Dell Premium with Dell Pro Max Plus?

Dell also added size labels to desktops, making things completely fair.

"Reading the names of Dell Pro Max Micro and Dell Pro Max Mini might cause your brain to explode." "Yes, I expect these machines to have their own premium sub-brands."

Yes, Dell Pro Max Micro Plus actually exists.

"Worse than Apple's Mac model names from the 1990s (Macintosh IIvx, Macintosh Centris/Quadra 610, PowerBook Duo 280c, etc.)."
