GM and ChargePoint are building over a hundred EV charging stations.

EV is the future trend, but it does not mean that you can refuel anywhere like a gasoline car. ChargePoint is trying to solve this problem by building many charging stations with General Motors' cooperation. Many of these charging stations plan to use new, nice universal ports.

ChargePoint is a major provider of EV charging solutions, and General Motors announced a partnership in October 2023 to install "hundreds" of charging ports across the United States by the end of 2025. Charging stations at ChargePoint's Express Plus platform can provide up to a maximum charge speed of 500kW, significantly reducing the charging time for EV drivers. In many places, the ChargePoint Omni Port system is also used, allowing vehicles with CCS or NACS charging ports to use any charger without an adapter. This cooperation includes an incentive program for third-party operators to own and operate charging infrastructure, accelerating the expansion of the charging network. GM had previously partnered with EVgo, which was also very successful.

Many companies plan to adopt Tesla's unique charging port NACS in new electric vehicles from this month until next year. This will require more than just a Tesla Supercharger for gasoline cars and EVs to spread at the same speed. That's where ChargePoint wants to intervene — she runs the world's largest EV charging network, and with General Motors' cooperation, she hopes to expand it further.
