Micrsoft is releasing new feature previews in the Edge browser. This feature helps to prevent technical support scans. It was designed to protect users from technology support scans that have increased, which could lead people to lose money.

As online scandals are increasing on various platforms, it's important to take steps to ensure safety. According to Microsoft data, the number of scandals blocked in Edge has increased fivefold compared to three years ago, indicating an increase in threats. Edge currently uses Microsoft Defender SmartScreen to detect and block known scams.

However, scams are changing very quickly, so a stronger method is needed to protect users before these scams are recognized and blocked. One type of particularly complex scam is "malware." This trick users into believing their computer is infected and contacts fake technical support services. The new malware blocker was designed to break these techniques.

The Scareware Blocker works as a tool that runs directly on your computer, checking full-screen web pages. This allows for comparisons with known scam sites without sending images online. This helps keep your information private. If harmful pages are detected, it exits full-screen mode, stops annoying sounds, and notifies you with a warning and page preview.

Microsoft does not appear to be extending this feature to the Outlook email program. I have been using Outlook since childhood, and from Hotmail, I've seen an increase in spam and scam emails. However, Edge is a priority for Microsoft, and Chrome still dominates, so supporting anti-fraud measures can become one of our strengths.

Users can contribute to improving the Scareware Blocker by reporting harmful sites. This helps improve everyone's detection systems. This feature is currently in preview stage for Windows users using the Edge browser.
