Apple has released beta versions of iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 to users on Monday. This is a few days after the public release of iOS 18.2. Today's beta versions do not discuss new features much, and unfortunately, for Mac and iPad users, there is still no redesigned Mail app in iPadOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3.

The new Mail app is still not available on Mac and iPad.

Apple introduced a new Mail app in iOS 18.2, which was announced at WWDC 2024 in June. The new Mail app includes smart categorization, organizing your email inbox into Primary, Transactions, Updates, and Promotions. It also makes it easy to see who sent which email. However, the new app is only available for iPhone users.

Apple has not commented on when the new Mail app will arrive on iPad and Mac, but the advertisement image for the M4 Mac released in October shows a redesigned Mail app on macOS, suggesting that this update will eventually reach these devices.

Unfortunately, this change has not yet occurred at the time of today's release of the iPadOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3 beta versions. At least in the first beta version, the Mail app does not look different on iPad and Mac. Of course, this is the first beta version, and many things may still happen before the official release, but the interface of the new Mail app may be introduced only on iPadOS 18.4 and macOS 15.4. Both versions are scheduled for release in April 2025.

Apple has previously released new features to devices separately. For example, the Genmoji feature, which allows iPhone and iPad users to create their own custom emojis, was introduced in iOS 18.2, but it was not available on Mac until macOS 15.3 beta 1.

Additionally, the new Mail app has received criticism from some users who are unhappy with the new categorization feature (fortunately, there is a way to return to the old design), but these users may not be concerned about the same issue on other devices, so they may be relaxing.

iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, and macOS 15.3 are expected to be released publicly between January and February.
