Apple has been selling iPhone 14 and iPhone SE online stores in some countries such as Switzerland because they require local regulations that all smartphones have USB-C ports. Subsequently, Apple ended the sale of iPhone 14 and SE in many countries in the EU.

The Sale Stop of iPhone 14 and SE 3 in the EU

According to MacRumors, many EU countries have made it impossible to purchase iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and the third-generation iPhone SE online. Local laws require these products to have a USB-C port. If not, they will no longer be able to buy or sell in the EU.

These devices are no longer available in countries such as Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, etc. However, they can still be used in the UK. The reason is that the UK is not part of the European Union.

The iPhone 15 was released in 2023 and all iPhone models have standardized USB-C ports. The company has updated almost all accessories to use the USB-C port, including AirPods and Magic Mouse. However, Apple still sells iPhones 14 and SE with Lightning connectors.

For European customers, this means that they will no longer be able to purchase the cheapest iPhone. At least for now. The iPhone 14 was released in September 2022 and maintains the design of the iPhone 13 but adds an emergency SOS function through satellite communication. On the other hand, the iPhone SE 3 was released in March 2022 and retains the design of the old iPhone 8 and home button.

Apple may not have discontinued the current version in the EU because there is a rumor that they plan to introduce a redesigned version with a USB-C port soon. Regarding the iPhone 14, it is likely that the model will be discontinued when the iPhone 17 series is released in September 2025.
