WSJ: iPhone 17 Air is cheaper than expected, and foldable iPhones are scheduled for release in 2026.

Today, according to a new report by The Wall Street Journal, Apple is developing two new foldable devices after 2026. Details about the rumored ultra-thin iPhone 17 model are also provided.

Details of iPhone 17 Air

The Wall Street Journal has proven many important details about the iPhone 17 Air, calling it a "challenge to reignite growth after years of annual update improvements." The details are as follows:

A brighter future iPhone will be thinner than the current model's 8mm profile, and is expected to be introduced the following year as part of the company's plans. This model will be cheaper than the Pro model, equipped with a simplified camera system to reduce costs.

Initially, many people expected the iPhone 17 Air to be Apple's most expensive iPhone. However, The Wall Street Journal now reports the opposite, stating that it will be cheaper than the Pro model.

Currently, the iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999. This means that the iPhone 17 Air could start in the same price range as the iPhone 16 Plus, around $900.

"According to The Wall Street Journal, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to offer a 'replacement option' for consumers who prefer sleek phones without compromising on compromises. Apple is betting heavily that the ultra-thin form factor is visually appealing."

New Foldable Devices

Additionally, expect two new foldable devices, an iPhone, and a large device designed as a laptop. The large device is expected to have a 19-inch display when folded, almost matching Bloomberg's morning report. This device was initially scheduled for release, but clearly the priority is the foldable iPhone.

"According to their report, The Wall Street Journal states that the foldable iPhone will have 'a larger display size than the iPhone 16 Pro Max,' and the display will be at least 7 inches. The iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display."

Apple was experimenting with a display on the outside when folding the device, but now tends towards an inside fold design similar to other market devices. These devices have been in development for a long time, but delays have occurred due to issues with hinges and display covers.

Apple's executives are pushing for the release of the foldable iPhone in 2026, but the company may need additional time to fully address the situation.
