How to Predict Connection Groups

There is no quick and reliable method like Wordle for Connections. This is because Connections is not based on an algorithm. However, by keeping a few points in mind, you may find it somewhat helpful.
  1. Find similar parts of speech. Is one word a verb and the other a noun? Or an adjective? Try grouping them based on these categories and see if other patterns become apparent.
  2. Are the words synonyms? Sometimes, categories may just be short phrases or very close synonyms. However, don't rely too heavily on this. Occasionally, Connections intentionally inserts some words that are sometimes synonyms to mislead you.
  3. Try saying the words. Sometimes, saying the words can be helpful. One puzzle contains the words go, rate, faster, clip, pace, speed, move, commute, hurry, and they are all related to the idea of movement. However, when you say them, it becomes slightly apparent that only 4 of them (go, move, hurry, faster) are the words you should say to actually make someone move.
  4. Red Herring. Connections usually contain words that could be mistakenly grouped together. For example, think of the words Bud, Corona, and Light. These three words may seem to go together or assume they belong to a category related to beer—but they didn't.
  5. Find your own words. Try using a word on the board that doesn't have multiple meanings or is only used in a specific context as the basis for a category.
  6. Shuffle the board. Sometimes, changing the position of the words can give you a new perspective.

If you couldn't solve this problem, don't worry—there will be another opportunity tomorrow! And these words may be related to topics you are interested in. This can help you occupy a favorable position in the competition.
