Recently, there has been a lot of talk about augmented reality technology. This is particularly due to the announcements of Snapchat Spectacles and Meta Orion. Both are very expensive and difficult for consumers to obtain, but the market for cheaper glasses is growing gradually. RayNeo Air 2s is one such product, offering some benefits of AR glasses at a more affordable price. I will share my thoughts on them.

How it feels

Firstly, these are glasses priced at $399 (currently selling for $319), and they do feel like a good value for money. The front is made of single-sheet plastic, which does not look like glass. It's also in a standard shape. The frame is very flexible and can be easily bent in the opposite direction.

On the other hand, it's a product that serves two purposes. What makes it pleasant is that you don't have to worry about size when buying it. However, for others who feel uncomfortable with it, they may not enjoy using it as much. I found it difficult to make consistent adjustments for complete fixation on my face. Changing the bridge (which comes in a box) helped a little bit, but overall, I can truly say that it doesn't fit me well. Your experience will clearly change.

The glass feels slightly affordable, but the out-of-the-box experience was absolutely charming. RayNeo (a sub-brand of TCL) handles packaging completely. There's also a high-quality carrying case for the glass, making it easy to put in a backpack without worrying.

Experience

At this price point, there's no way to include an onboard battery or a computer, so you always have to connect to a USB-C port. This is not a problem, but it mainly means that these devices are used quietly most of the time. It's difficult to see the display screen when moving, so it's not recommended to use these devices while on the go, although it is possible.

The actual display panel is quite good. It provides up to 5000 nits of brightness and has a refresh rate of 90Hz, making it very smooth and responsive. The speakers are also decent.

At $319, this product is not the best in all aspects, but if you're interested in something like this, it's easy to purchase if it fits your needs. Also, unlike standalone headsets, you don't have to worry about breaking them until you're ready to use them.

  • Buy RayNeo Air 2s on Amazon for $319 (usually $399)
  • Buy RayNeo Pocket TV on Amazon for $179
