A friend of ours, a member of 9to5Google, attended today's Unpacked 2025 event. The promotion for Galaxy S25 Edge did not disclose many details about the device. Although the exact release date has not been revealed yet, rumors suggest it may be released in April or May. Samsung has also not disclosed any specifications of this device. Moreover, today's promotion provided very little information except for the name 'Galaxy S25 Edge'.

Last month's report suggested that Galaxy S25 Edge was approximately 6.4mm thick. However, it is reported that the thinnest part of the iPhone 17 Air is around 5.5mm.

Samsung started developing Galaxy S25 Edge after rumors about the first one of the iPhone 17 Air surfaced last month, according to a supply chain report.

Samsung has confirmed the launch of its new 'Galaxy S25 Edge' and plans to compete with the rumored iPhone 17 Air.

According to an internal diagram shared by Smartpare on December 14th, Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to have three cameras on the back. On the other hand, it is expected that iPhone 17 Air will be equipped with a single camera of 48MP in a horizontal 'camera bar' style design.

In today's Bloomberg interview, Samsung Mobile Devices Business President TM Roh explained the concept behind Galaxy S25 Edge.

The edge will use the same technology as the new ultrabook model but plan to incorporate it into a slim design. Customers are looking for 'the best performance, the best camera function, and the best AI', but at the same time, they also want to stand out with an attractive appearance in front of the crowd.

'We were trying to combine all the advantages of the S25 Ultra into a longer form_factor design.'

'Our goal is to reduce the price of this product below that of the Ultra model and increase customer numbers by making it more accessible,' said Roh.
