Today, it has been made public. What is Sora? It is a video generation model based on text input. The description of this initial version is filled with asterisks, and there are limitations, but this is its basic function. This means that you can create your own video simply by entering a command, but there are many practical uses.

• Remixing: Remix elements within the video (e.g., remove a spaceship and add a jungle)
• Re-editing: Find the best frame and extend it to the left and right to complete the scene
• Storyboard: Organize and edit unique video sequences on a personal timeline
• Loop: Create a video by looping, trimming, and seamlessly repeating it.
• Merge: Seamlessly combine two videos into one
• Style Presets: Create and share styles using presets to capture your imagination

From the list above, it is clear that Sora could be a fun tool for beginner users to create their own videos. However, the biggest advantage, in my opinion, is how it can support YouTubers and other filmmakers in the video editing process. Sora is not available to free users; instead, a subscription is required. You can use Sora with a ChatGPT Plus membership for $20 per month. Additionally, you can use it with the newly introduced ChatGPT Pro option for $200 per month. Here are the limitations for each.

The final point is that all works of ChatGPT Plus users will have Sora's additional watermark added to them, regardless of whether they like it or not. Although there are issues, Sora is an attractive new addition to the ChatGPT Plus subscription, potentially increasing the likelihood of users signing up—especially with the new ChatGPT integration for iOS 18.2 approaching.
