T-MobileがStarlink接続のベータテストを開始し、2024年初頭に実施される予定です。これは2022年にT-MobileとSpaceXがパートナーシップを結んだ後で、既存の通信「死区」を解消するために行われました。新規のStarlink衛星は500万平方マイルの未接続地域をカバーし、今後も定期的に発射計画があります。ベータ期間中はテキストメッセージ送信が可能で、その後に音声およびデータサポートが追加されます。すべてのT-Mobile顧客、ビジネス、早期応答者参加可能です。プレミアムプラン不要。

Last week, T-Mobile began registration for beta testing Starlink connection on mobile phones. The actual test is scheduled to start at the beginning of next year. This comes approximately two years after the initial announcement.

In 2022, T-Mobile and SpaceX formed a partnership, allowing T-Mobile customers to use the Starlink satellite. This was done to eliminate customer "dead zones." Therefore, SpaceX had to design new through-base satellites, but according to T-Mobile, there are currently over 300 satellites in space.

T-Mobile announced in their press release that these new Starlink satellites will cover an additional 5 million square miles of land not currently served by cell towers. SpaceX also plans to continue launching these direct-to-cell satellite connections without any time frame restrictions.

During the beta period, users will be able to send text messages. Subsequently, voice and data support will be added.

All postpaid T-Mobile customers, businesses, and early responders can participate. Fortunately, a premium plan is not required for the beta test.
