Lutron is known for its high-quality HomeKit-compatible window shades, but they come with a very high price tag. To address this issue, the company has been working on a new Caseta smart shutter.

Lutron says, "We expect that our known quality and performance will be delivered, but at a much lower price than $399 for many window sizes."

When we reviewed Lutron's Serena range in 2018, we were very fond of the product itself, but we were not satisfied with the price of approximately $900 per window.

In terms of structural quality, we are completely satisfied with the overall appearance and color materials. The remote control is responsive and operates smoothly for Serena Motorized Shades. While the motor is relatively noisy during operation, it does not cause a problem in normal use.

The challenge with this solution is controlling all windows in a single-family home using HomeKit. The cost may not be practical for one window. However, when applied to an entire single-family home, it can be included in the house's price!

Indeed, if we calculate the Lutron system for my apartment (with long windows from floor to ceiling), it amounts to a surprising $22,000!

Custom sizes can range from a maximum width of 96 inches and a length of 104 inches, requiring additional costs.
