The Apple Watch has always been a powerful device to track your health and fitness. However, with the latest two changes in watchOS 11, it has become easier than ever to achieve your goals. Here are the details:

To close all rings, you needed 30 minutes of exercise every day and 12 hours of standing work. These goals could not be changed, but the Move ring alone was customizable.

Recently, watchOS added a feature to change movement and standing goals annually. However, this function was implemented with two important activity rings' changes just a few months ago when watchOS 11 was released.

Now you can use holidays and sick days. Also, your activity rings can have different goals for each day of the week.

In watchOS 11, you can "pause" an Activity ring for one or multiple days. This way, even if you didn't close the ring on that day, continuity is not broken.

"You can adjust your daily goals. For example, work more during weekdays and relax on weekends."

It was an exciting time, but then COVID hit and I couldn't get out of bed for several days.

I learned how long it took to break my winning streak and achieve a new record. It was very demotivating. I quickly stopped the habit of closing the ring daily.

Similarly, because Apple Watch has historically treated every day the same way, maintaining consistency with my rings often proved difficult for me. If I had a day with high activity, I expected to achieve standard goals the next day, which didn't feel right.
