Bluesky has released the beta version of its trending topics feature.

The Bluesky media platform has recently released an important new feature to users this week - Trend Topics. Since the update, people can now see what is most discussed on Bluesky. However, there are still several limitations with this function.
Bluesky Provides Trending Topics
According to Bluesky's official account, the trending topic feature is now available in the app and website. As expected, users can now see a list of the most controversial topics on Bluesky. By tapping on a specific topic, Bluesky will show the best posts and recent posts on that topic.
Until now, Bluesky's Trend Topics have been applied globally and not differently by region. Additionally, Bluesky is still in the beta stage for this feature and there are several details users need to be aware of. For example, the trend is currently only for people using Bluesky in English and more languages will be supported in the future.
Users can choose not to see trending topics by tapping on the "X" button or turning off the function in settings. Additionally, words that are muted will not appear in trending topics. After this update, Bluesky is back on track with Threads and still limits the Trending Topics feature to users in the United States and Japan.
Bluesky has been growing significantly recently. The platform gained 10 million users in just one month and according to statistics obtained through the platform's API, currently holds around 25 million users. Bluesky's rapid growth is pressuring Meta to release new features for Threads more quickly.
The competition between Bluesky and Threads is getting hotter as more people look for alternatives to X (formerly Twitter).
The Bluesky app is available for free on the App Store, and requires an iPhone running iOS 15.1 or higher. Install the latest version of the app to access all new features.
