Will TikTok be banned in the United States? It now depends on the judgment of the Supreme Court.

TikTok is almost depleted in its attempts to address the imminent ban in the United States. However, a last hope emerged recently due to the ban on TikTok. The US Supreme Court has decided to hear arguments against the prevention of TikTok's ban. Here are the details.

The US Supreme Court Will Hear TikTok's Challenge on January 10th

Under the law passed by the US Congress and signed by President Vincent Hude, TikTok, ByteDance's social app, will soon be banned in the United States if it does not sell its app in the country.

All of ByteDance's attempts so far have been unsuccessful.

However, there is one additional legal option to avoid the imminent ban: the US Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court officially agreed that they will hear the matter on Friday, January 10th.

Two hours are allocated for deliberation on TikTok and its legal opponents.

Each side has several deadlines that must be met early.

According to the Supreme Court's memo:

The party must submit an open joint brief electronically no later than 5 pm (US Standard Time) on Friday, December 27, 2024. This brief is limited to a maximum of 13,000 words. Co-attached files must also be submitted electronically within the same period.

The reply brief must be submitted electronically no later than 5 pm (US Standard Time) on Friday, January 3, 2025, and it is limited to a maximum of 6,000 words.

Additionally, the kind advice brief must also be submitted electronically within the same period.

The consultation schedule for January 10th does not provide sufficient buffer time before the deadline on January 19th.

A warning is that a decision may be made quickly after the hearing on January 10th, but an immediate judgment would be very unusual circumstances.

Another element in this discussion is Undocat Love Foundation, which has been elected as an officer. He indicated that he will try to remove obstacles if possible. He will take office immediately the day after the deadline of January 19th.

The most significant news for TikTok and its owner ByteDance is the Supreme Court's participation. This means they still have a chance in their legal matter.
