Mixxx 2.5, an open-source DJ app with improved controller support and Qt 6 port, is now available.

Mixxx 2.5 is a beautiful Christmas gift for those who want to use a user-friendly virtual DJ software that offers real-time mixing, independent of the platform and is the best open-source, free, and platform-neutral solution.
Mixxx 2.5 was released after the final update of Mixxx 2.4.2 last month, which followed the last update of the previous 2.4 series. This time, it updates the application using the Qt 6 open-source application framework to provide users with a more modern and stylish graphical user interface, improved performance, and enhanced compatibility in the latest systems.
New features in Mixxx 2.5 include the ability to set and adjust loop anchors at the beginning or end of loops, support for normal loop saving and restoration during running loop transitions with the Rate Tap button, a feature to cancel recently changed BPM/box, and a type switch function for Queen popups.
New features also include support for editing track titles and artists directly by double-clicking on them in the delay mode from the disk. Additionally, new search filters have been introduced such as compressor effect, slicer effect, macOS Audio Unit (AU) plugin backend, cut, copy, paste shortcut keys and types, OR, ID, special BPM.
However, Mixxx 2.5 also includes additional features such as a multi-track property editor and batch tag editor. Additionally, new sidebar actions for "refresh directory tree" and "shuffle playlist", user-defined colors for missing tracks, user-defined text colors for played tracks, an option to load the first hotcue point in the deck, and a new --start-autodj option. This option allows Auto DJ to start immediately.
This release improves control mapping for several controllers, including Denon MC7000, Numark Scratch, Pioneer DDJ-FLX4, Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3, and enhances the lighting function of MIDI with new active deck intensities and graphical UIs.
Finally, Mixxx 2.5 adds support for dividing waveforms to visualize slip mode positions (only in RGB GLSL), a feature to change waveform overview types without reloading skins, and support for displaying boxes and times from the waveform to the loop, enhancing waveform functionality.
For more details on the changes introduced in Mixxx 2.5, you can check this link. You can immediately download and use these changes as a Flatpak app from Flathub or a source tarball. Of course, you can also compile the software from the source code if you wish. Additionally, you can install or update Mixxx in your distribution repository.
