Popular vacation browser extensions steal creators' earnings, deceive users, and claim investigation videos.

PayPal owns and popularizes the browser extension program Honey, which is at the center of a new major controversy. According to recent survey videos, an extension that helps users save money is neglecting important discount information and intentionally reallocating commission from creators.
The video argues that Honey is being used as a honey scam to lure users into the best deals while robbing creators of their earnings.
Honey could have been installed and used during PayPal's holiday shopping season. Available on various browsers including Chrome and Safari, it became popular for this reason.
Honey promised to provide the best discounts and coupons on all products purchased online, and was possible with just a simple click, but has now become the center of much controversy.
According to survey videos that have been researched for many years, two major issues with Honey are:
- Not providing the best offers - one of the promises made.
- Removing creators' partnership links to steal their earnings
The YouTube channel MegaLag explains how Honey can generate maximum profit from users beyond simply earning money and finding cheaper prices, by using various strategies and changing their affiliate links to benefit the channel's own affiliate earnings.
Here is the full video:
PayPal has not yet issued an official response to the honey controversy.
PayPal has not yet released an official statement about the video, but the many details revealed by MegaLag are difficult to refute.
In particular, PayPal's ability to provide evidence that the extension is functioning as intended.
Sorry. For a browser extension that promised much with less cost, another old legend has been proven once again: too good things cannot be true.
