Meta announced this week that it has released new features for its smart glasses in partnership with Ray-Ban. The Ray-Ban Meta glasses will soon have the ability to identify songs using AI and Apple's Shazam.

According to the company's announcement, software update v11 for Ray-Ban Meta integrates with Shazam. Shazam is Apple's music recognition app. When released, users will be able to ask their glasses, "Hey Meta, what song is this?" and the glasses will use Shazam to recognize the song and answer the question.

We all know that feeling: when you're out in the city and a slight melody starts playing, but the name of the song or artist doesn't come to mind at that moment. Now Meta says that the glasses can handle this task for you, as mentioned in the blog post.

Meta added Apple Music integration to Ray-Ban smart glasses earlier this month. Thanks to this integration, glass owners can play songs, playlists, albums, stations, or artists without having to lift a finger through Meta's virtual assistant.

In addition to the Shazam integration, the Ray-Ban Meta glasses will receive several new AI features with the update. One of them is real-time AI, which will allow users to share what they see in their glasses in real-time so that Meta AI can assist with various daily activities. With real-time AI, you won't have to say "Hey Meta" every time you ask a question.

Meta also plans to introduce real-time translation functionality into smart glasses. When having a conversation in another language, what they say will be heard in your language through the speaker in the glasses lens. This feature was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the beginning of this year.

According to Meta, software update v11 will start rolling out to Ray-Ban Meta eyewear users today. However, AI features will only be available for beta testing to users who have registered for Meta's early access program.

1. Open the Meta View app on your phone.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Select Glasses.
4. Tap Update.
